The Straw Hat Pirates are among the most fearsome pirate crews in the world. A play. Not only that, but they are also some of the most infamous. Possessing a peak bounty of over a billion berries, this crew has a few members that the World Government considers threats.
Each member of the Straw Hat Pirates brings something different to the table, possessing a quirk that makes them useful. They are also varied in terms of potency – with some being more powerful than others. Who are the weakest and the strongest among them?
ten Monkey D. Luffy
The leader of the Straw Hat Pirates himself, Monkey D. Luffy is also known as the Fifth Sea Emperor. He is quite the threat to the world government – if his bounty of over a billion berries is an indication.
Luffy is the only crew member to know all three types of Haki – Arnament, Observation, and Conqueror’s. He can also use each Haki’s advanced form, his advanced Conqueror’s Haki making him an even greater threat than before. Oh, and he can stretch his arms and legs at will with the Gum-Gum Fruit.
9 Roronoa Zoro
Zoro is an extremely talented swordsman, with the goal of becoming the greatest swordsman in the world. While he may not have consumed Devil Fruit like most of the other Straw Hat Pirates, he is a master of the Three Swords style – a style he created in his youth.
Zoro is a user of all three forms of Haki, and he can even use his Arnament and Conqueror’s Haki with his swords. In one particular fight against King, he awakened his Conqueror’s Haki and evolved his three-sword style into a powerful new one.
The newest member of the Straw Hat Pirates, Jinbei is a former member of the Shibibukai. He is also proficient in Fishman Karate, while also having access to Arnament and Observation Haki.
Known to many as the “Knight of the Sea” due to his experience and strength as a pirate, Jinbei is able to hold his own against anyone who opposes him. He always resisted the Yonko and managed to defeat the best of Who’s Who without a single scratch.
For a leader, Sanji is actually quite a strong pirate. He uses both Arnament and Observation Haki and is a prince of the ancient kingdom of Germa – most of which A play fans saw it coming from a mile away.
Sanji is a Black Leg Style practitioner, and he is able to use two different techniques – Diable Leg and Ifrit Leg. Both maneuvers add some extra flair to his devastating kicks. More recently, he received the Raid Suit, which made him one of the most powerful pirates around.
6 Nico Robin
Using the Flower-Flower Fruit, Nico Robin can sprout and reproduce body parts just about anywhere. With her many limbs, she can easily break her opponents’ bones without too much trouble and put them in painful submission holds. It is implied that the number of body parts she can duplicate is unlimited.
But that’s not all this archaeologist can do. As revealed in the Wano Country arc, Robin exhibited Fish Karate and also learned the martial art Ryusoken, courtesy of Sabo.
He might be a cute little anthropomorphic reindeer at first, but Chopper can transform into an intimidating human reindeer thanks to his devil fruit. The drug Rumble Ball allows him to control his many transformations. And since he’s a doctor, he has the expertise to create special pills that allow him to use three Zoan forms.
With these Zoan forms, Chopper can unlock his Monster Point – a powerful ability that’s essentially a combination of all of his other points. Not only does this form make him a giant, but it also makes him physically stronger and more durable.
Brook may be an eccentric skeleton with a funny afro, musical talent, and a knack for cracking skull jokes (in one of One Piece’s best running gags), but he’s got more than there is. appears. Along with being a capable swordsman, he also has a few soul-related abilities thanks to the Revive-Revive fruit he ate.
Brook’s soul powers, combined with his musical talents and swordsmanship, make him a force to be reckoned with. But that’s not all he can do – using his sword, Brook can freeze his enemies with the cold of the underworld.
Franky is not only a cyborg – and one who built his own body – but he’s also a shipbuilder capable of building just about anything. He has studied many blueprints in the past, which has made him the master builder he is known for.
Aside from being a villainous inventor, Franky also has a few advantages when it comes to combat. His cyborg body comes with a laser installed, and he even has a battle robot named Franky Shogun that is part of the Battle Franky line.
Nami is a real asset to the Straw Hat Pirates, having saved their butts several times with her navigational expertise. Some might say she’s among the weakest pirates in the crew, if not the weakest, but like Usopp, she makes up for it with her insight.
Nami has a bit of a minion in Zeus – a homie who can fly and produce lightning like a cloud. But when it comes to fighting particularly strong opponents, Nami will often struggle and may even run to avoid a fight altogether.
Usopp is the loyal marksman of the Straw Hat Pirates, and aside from his superb marksmanship skills, he is quite weak compared to his companions. Not only that, but he’s been known to act cowardly at times – although he does have a few acts of bravery here and there.
Usopp makes up for his lack of physical strength with his cunning nature, as he can use clever tricks to aid him in battle. He is also an Observation Haki user and can take a beating, able to take as much pain as possible.
