ISRS Announces Large Pilot Grants Program


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa .– The Penn State Social Science Research Institute is calling for proposals of up to $ 75,000 for innovative pilot research projects that contribute to the ISSR’s strategic mission of fostering interdisciplinary research that addresses critical human and social issues at the local, national and international levels.

The aim of the large pilot grant program is to enable new interdisciplinary teams to pursue new and potentially high-impact fundamental and applied research. The SSRI is particularly interested in funding projects that broaden our understanding of the factors that lead to social disparities and their effects on education, health or economic outcomes over the lifespan; informs the development of policies, systems and / or other strategies that have an impact on the education, health or economic outcomes of populations and reduce inequalities between people and places; or emphasizes the engagement of communities and other stakeholders.
