Last month, Britney lashed out at Justin for weaponizing her name for “fame and attention” in a sleazy Instagram post that was quickly deleted.
The 40-year-old star admitted she and fiancé Sam Asghari initially thought she had had a “food baby”. We were stunned when she took a test that confirmed she was pregnant.
“I lost so much weight to take my trip to Maui than to gain it back 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️…I thought ‘Damn…what happened to my stomach?? ?’ My husband said ‘No, you’re pregnant silly 🤪!!!’ So I took a pregnancy test… and uhhhhh well… I’m having a baby 👶🏼… 4 days later I had some more pregnant food 🤰🏼🙈🙈🙈 it’s getting bigger!!!” she wrote.
Britney went on to detail her struggle with perinatal depression in her previous pregnancies, writing, “I have to say it’s absolutely awful 😔…women didn’t talk about it back then…some people considered that it was dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her… but now women talk about it every day.
Sam also acknowledged the exciting news on his own social media page, writing: “Fatherhood is something I’ve always looked forward to and don’t take lightly. It’s the most important job. that i will never do🙏”
The pregnancy seems all the more poignant as it came just months after Britney said she was forced to have an IUD during her guardianship when she wanted more children.
During her explosive court hearing in June, Britney told the judge: “I deserve to have a life. I deserve to have the same rights as anyone to have a child, a family, anyone. which of these things, and more.”
Britney is already mum to Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. She was married to Kevin between 2005 and 2007.
He added that Kevin “congratulates her and Sam Asghari as they go through the excitement of planning parenthood together.”
However, another of Britney’s exes, Justin Timberlake, seemed less thrilled by the news, and her bizarre reaction to the pregnancy was captured on video.
Britney and Justin dated between 1999 and 2002, with the romance ending in disarray just before Justin suggested she had been unfaithful in her single ‘Cry Me A River’.
But despite this apparent olive branch, Justin wasn’t exactly jumping for joy when asked about Britney’s pregnancy in Beverly Hills on Monday.
While heading to an apartment building for a private screening with a pal, a paparazzo said, “Britney Spears has just announced that she is pregnant with her third baby…”
But before he could even finish his sentence, Justin brushed it off and snapped, “Stop! Go away!”
Justin then walked up the stairs to the building in silence, but stamped his foot theatrically as he reached the top and complained to his friend: “[He] made me stomp my feet.
The video has since gone viral on social media, with many viewers expressing their confusion over Justin’s dramatic reaction.
Share the clip on Twitter, one person wrote: “Not Justin Timberlake having a fit because Britney is pregnant.”
“’Stop, go away’ -3 words. ‘It’s great’ -2 words. ‘Congratulations’ -1 word. I will never understand people who use more time and energy to be negative than to comment on a simple positive statement. It will always be waste! someone answered.
Another tweeted: “OK so Justin Timberlake wouldn’t stop throwing Britney’s name during interviews for an entire decade just to throw her but now he’s bothered when someone asks him about her? Do so that it makes sense.
“We now live in a world where Kfed has more class than Justin Timberlake LMAO. Justin, loser, just say ‘congratulations,'” a third said, referring to Kevin.
Justin’s heated reaction may have been because Britney recently called him out for weaponizing her name after their split in the early 2000s.
In an Instagram post that was quickly deleted on March 29, Britney referenced her mother Jamie Lynne Spears’ upcoming memoir, writing, “I got a call last night from Jesus and you know what he said? Dear child…your mom got a serving with her book just when you needed her the most…all for WHAT???FAME and ATTENTION.
“Your ex did the same… he served with his debut album using your name claiming you messed it up!!!!” she added.
Britney first acknowledged Justin’s controversial ‘Cry Me A River’ music video in an interview with rolling stone in 2011, where she revealed that she had been told what it would entail.
The song widely insinuated that Britney had cheated on Justin and caused the end of their relationship, and its accompanying video featured an unmistakable Britney lookalike.
Explaining how the video went during his interview with rolling stone, Britney said of Justin: “He called me and asked if I was okay. He called me and supposedly wanted to get back together or whatever, but behind it was, ‘And by the way, you’re in a video coming out.’ That kind of stuff crept in. ‘Do not worry about that. It does not matter.'”
“So the label called and said, ‘If you want to change that, you can. I had the power to say no to video. But I didn’t, because I thought, Hey, this is your video,” she added. “Then it came out, and I was like, ‘I should have fucking said no to that shit!’ … And I said, ‘Why did you do that?’ He says, “Well, I have a controversial video.” So he got what he wanted.
“I think it feels like such a desperate attempt, personally. But it was a great way to sell the record,” Britney concluded. “Smart guy.”
