Love Island star reveals woman ghosted him over a very common social media habit: ‘She really wasn’t into it’
A Love Island contestant has revealed he was ghosted by a potential love interest after stalking his Instagram profile and thinking he was too much of a ‘poser’.
Josh Moss, who is newly single after splitting from his former co-star Amelia Marni, revealed on The Handbags Podcast this week he was rejected by a woman who once loved him because his social media feed made him look “self-obsessed”.
Josh recalled the awkward meeting in his younger years with his co-host Michael Brunelli, who joked that his friend’s Instagram made him a “walking red flag”.

He explained how he met the woman through a mutual ‘pre-Love Island’ friend while working as a cricket coach.
“I had my whistle, the cap, the sunglasses, I spoke with authority, the kids looked at me like I was their hero,” he said.
“I caught her eye, and she noticed me and she said to [our] friend, “Oh my God, who is this guy? I’ve never seen him before. I wish I had his number.” ‘

The mutual friend thought it best to give her Josh’s Instagram account and told him to expect a follow-up request in the near future.
‘I was buzzing. I was on cloud nine, had a boost all day,” said Josh.
‘I came home, and I got an announcement [on Instagram] and I saw that it was her. I was planning our date, what we were going to do.
But Josh never got a message from the woman, and after five days of waiting he got in touch with their mutual friend who explained what had happened.

The homie told Josh the woman ‘really loved you [and] thought you were really attractive’ but she found her Instagram content a dump.
“Unfortunately she’s been through your social media and thinks you’re a bit of a poser, and she’s not really into it!” they added.
As Michael burst out laughing, Josh admitted that his social media at the time was a little goofy because of his penchant for “selfies” and “montage photos”.

‘I’m not going to lie, it was a bit selfish!’ he laughs. “I can’t even deny the fact. That was it, I never heard from her again.
Michael, who is engaged to Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis, replied: “You were just a huge red flag to her!”
Josh admitted he ‘rebranded’ his social media following the ghost incident by deleting ‘loads of photos’ that made him look like a poser.
