Nintendo Switch N64 and Sega Genesis controllers feature hidden buttons and more


Nintendo fans have spotted huge details about the new Nintendo Switch N64 and SEGA Genesis controllers, which will dramatically improve the Nintendo Switch Online experience.

Recently, a rumor regarding a new controller for the Nintendo Switch console was officially confirmed by Nintendo. In the latest Nintendo Direct, two new additions for the Switch console were introduced exclusively for Switch Online subscribers, N64 controllers and SEGA Genesis.

However, if you missed the last Nintendo Direct in September, you can watch it here. While the presentation had plenty of surprises in store, arguably the most exciting announcement was the addition of redesigned retro controllers.

Likewise, with the new Nintendo Switch OLED console already sold out, many fans are looking to get their hands on some sort of alternative.

Now it looks like the N64 and SEGA Genesis controllers have more features than originally thought. While many thought the new controllers were a faithful recreation, it seems they are not. However, fans will be happy to hear that it’s definitely a positive.

N64 and SEGA Genesis Controller Buttons

Interestingly enough, there seems to be a subtle secret to the new Nintendo Switch N64 controller. While the new Nintendo Switch N64 controller is fully wireless, other features have been added to the controller as well.

After Nintendo released new high-resolution images of the controllers, some fans may have noticed the addition of new buttons.

Now, thanks to the efforts of Nintendal on Twitter, new hidden buttons were spotted on both N64 and SEGA Genesis controllers.

As you can see in the picture above, the N64 controller will have ZR, Home and Share buttons. Likewise, the SEGA Genesis controller will also feature the Home and Share button.

In addition, the SEGA Genesis controller will also have a ‘Fashion’ button, allowing players to switch between 3 and 6 button modes.

However, it is important to note that both controllers will also feature a USB-C connection, which is also present on Nintendo Pro controllers.
