A new pop-up bar called Rumaway Cove at Refuge on Central opens Wednesday in Charlotte by the group of owners behind The Royal Tot.

ETA Group will open Rumaway Cove at 1101 Central Ave. inside Refuge on Central, a small five-room hotel by Wintergreen Hospitality.

The ambiance of Rumaway Cove is inspired by The Royal Tot. Look forward to tropical-inspired cocktails and small bites at the Paper Plane Deli and Market.

Beverage Manager Larry Suggs’ cocktail menu will include classic tropical cocktails such as Painkiller, Mai Tai and Queen’s Park Swizzle, as well as his own creations including:

  • The happiest hour with coconut infused rum, passion fruit, hibiscus tea, cinnamon, citrus and sparkling wine
  • Trinidaddy Daiquiri with aged rum, spiced black rum, banana-tamarind syrup, fresh lime juice, egg white and bitter Angostura

Bar Bites by Paper Plane Deli will include:

  • Togarashi bar nuts
  • Smoked Fish Dip
  • Spam Grilled Cheese
  • Spam and Egg Cursors

On Friday and Saturday evenings, a menu of specialties will be offered to you with tastings of caviar and ceviche.

Rumaway Cove will remain open for at least two months.

PRO TIP: You’ll be booking a take-out reservation and Royal Tot’s Admiral Vernon’s Rum Club members will be given priority for reservations.

HOURS: Wednesday-Friday, 5 p.m.-midnight and Saturday, 3 p.m.-2 a.m.
