UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There’s still time to join the Penn State Nittany Lions when they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1, 2022.
In addition to heading to the Outback Bowl with the Official Penn State Bowl Tour, there are other opportunities for the Penn Staters to engage with Tampa alumni and fans before the game. And if you’re not traveling, you can connect with other Penn Staters, as many Alumni Association alumni chapters will be hosting watch parties. All the details are below.

Official Bowl Travel Packages include hotel accommodations, bus transportation, welcome reception, pre-game tailgate and more when visiting On Location – Anthony Travel, the Official Travel Partner of Penn State Alumni Association, the Nittany Lion Club and Penn State Athletics. On-site media coverage
The Alumni Association will provide social media coverage of the bowl experience, including video coverage, photographs, news reports and live streaming, including of the cheering rally, where possible. Penn Staters are encouraged to follow the Alumni Association on Facebook, Twitter and instagram to stay connected and to share your favorite travel experiences and memories of the season.
volunteer service project
On December 31, the Penn State Alumni Association and the University of Arkansas Alumni Association will be doing “Team Up & Clean-Up!” The organizations partnered with Keep Pinellas Beautiful to host a beach cleanup at Gandy Beach. The volunteer effort will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. Gandy Beach is only about a 15-minute drive from downtown Tampa. A reminder of the event with directions and any additional details will be sent to all who register the day before the event. Volunteers are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing their favorite team clothes.
New Year’s Eve Parade/Rally
City of Ybor is the site of this festive celebration featuring the Outback Bowl New Year’s Day Parade and Rally. The parade will feature floats and marching bands, including the Blue Band and the Arkansas School Orchestra. The Pep Rally features a battle of bands and cheerleaders from both universities. The entertainment is free and family friendly. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs along Seventh Avenue.
