JULY 2021 ORIGINAL STORY – Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Top ZZ were scheduled to bring their ‘Celebration with ZZ Top’ tour to the Abbotsford Center on Friday May 1, 2020 with special guests Cheap tip.

Due to COVID, the show has been postponed to 2021 and then to April 23, 2022.

In July 2021, Top ZZ posted on their Facebook page that bassist Dusty Hill was having medical issues:

ZZ Top members Billy and Frank would like to share that their fearless bass player Dusty is taking a little detour to Texas to deal with a hip problem. They expect a speedy recovery and bring him back immediately. Per Dusty asks “The show must go on!”. With this directive, ZZ Top put the services of Mr. Elwood Francis, their trusted guitar technician of the past two decades, into play with his slide guitar, bass guitar and harmonica playing at full blast. “And with Elwood to our right, rest assured that ZZ Top will deliver their good time, signature show,” said Billy F Gibbons. “Billy’s big guitar, Mr. Beard’s crushing drums, and Elwood securing the bottom of the ‘scale continues the delivery with these famous three agreements that we all love ”.

A few days later came the bad news from the group:
